VERNON, CT — Rockville High School students were given a very realistic look at the perils of impaired and distracted driving Friday at a mock crash organized by School Resource Officer Allison Lawrence.

The scenario depicted a two-car crash involving students on Loveland Hill Road orchestrated by fire captain Jeff Schambach.

Paniced "conversations" among student actors at the "scene" implied that both distracted and impaired driving may have been a factor.
