• Vernon Teen Drowns In Massachusetts While Paddleboarding: Police (patch.com) — Vernon readers are learning that an 18-year-old local man died after falling from a paddleboard into Jenkins Pond in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Despite a rapid response from local police, fire, and rescue crews, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, and Massachusetts authorities are continuing to investigate the drowning and conduct an autopsy.
   

• Tractor-Trailer Driver 'Didn't See' Merging Small Car Before Vehicles Collided In Vernon: State Police (patch.com) — A recent crash on I-84 in Vernon involved a tractor-trailer hitting a compact car that was merging near Exit 67, but fortunately no one was injured and no tickets were issued.
