The Rockville Junior Legion baseball team lost its opening game of the state tournament to Norwalk on Saturday by a score of 11-0. The game took place at McCoy Field in Henry Park.
Norwalk came out hot right out of the gate, scoring at least one run in the first three innings, an offensive show that included four runs in the second. Rockville was in a tough position in the second inning with bases loaded and no one out and Norwalk made it pay with two sacrifice flies and two line drive hits.
Kurt Annelli was the starting pitcher for Rockville. He was relieved by Carlos Adamson in the third inning after finishing out a tough second inning.

In the fifth inning, Norwalk added three more runs before getting another couple of runs in the top of the sixth which pushed the deficit into double digits for Rockville. After the bottom of the sixth, the mercy rule was applied and the game was cut short an inning.
Matt Goff played well for Rockville, getting two hits and adding a stolen base. Adamson added a hit of his own and Nicholai Vanen gave Rockville another hit with his double.

Norwalk will advance on in the state tournament to play at Danbury South on Sunday.
