Rockville Junior Legion Team Qualifies for State Tourney

The Rockville junior Legion baseball team has clinched a first-round home game for the state tournament after finishing its regular season with wins in winning four out of its last five games.
Rockville (15-9, Zone 8) is scheduled to play Norwalk (15-12, Zone 4) on Saturday. The game is scheduled for noon at McCoy Field at Henry Park.
The clincher for Rockville, also known as Rockentry for the Rockville and Coventry players that make up the team, was last Thursday on a no-hitter by Carlos Adamson in a 9-1 win over Willimantic (2-11) at the Rockville High School junior varsity field.

The team then went on to defeat East Hartford (1st place, Zone 8 and 19-5) on Kurt Annelli's complete game two-hitter. Ryan Boutin scored the winning run in the third inning on a single by Jonathan Frank.
In Rockville's final regular season game, Matt Goff, in only his second start of the season, pitched a complete game in a 2-1 victory over South Windsor (15-9, Zone 8) at McCoy Field.
Nick Norstrom scored the winning run in the second inning on a two-out single by Nicholai Vanek.
