The paper noted that the restaurant specializes in traditional Chinese food.

Those looking for authentic Chinese food, including ‘spicy numbing’ frogs don’t have to look any farther than Sichuan Pepper on the Hartford Turnpike in Vernon Vernon.
The restaurant recently was reviewed by the New York Times’ Rand Richards Cooper.
Sichuan Pepper draws a large Chinese crowd due to its traditional Chinese dishes. Among some of the more exotic dishes is a mala pot of fresh frogs. Peppers used in the dish give a slight tingly numbing sensation on the tongue, according to the review. There is also a rabbit meat dish.
