VERNON, CT — The sign is up for the new HomeSense store in Vernon, but the town's economic development coordinator said it could be another month before it officially opens.

Construction crews have faced a few issues, though nothing serious, Vernon Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately said.

Work has taken place on the space since late May, when Price Chopper vacated the building at the Tri-City Plaza.

Price Chopper had occupied 99,000 square feet at Tri-City, located at 35 Talcottville Road. HomeSense is taking over 27,000 feet of that space to join sister stores T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods, both a few doors down.

The remaining space is being occupied by a ShopRite supermarket, which is slated for a grand opening on March 8.
