The event is based on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars where contestants bake and design cupcakes based on a given theme. The team's plan, design, and practice for weeks in advance to impress the judges in this intense competition.

Round one started with sixteen pairs who had to design their cupcakes around the theme, “Habitat for Humanity”.

This charity event benefits several different organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.

Teams will cultivate creative and tasteful designs to present to the judges who include professionals in the baking field.

Nicole and Jeremy Braddock of Hardcore Sweets and winners of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars in 2013.

“There were cupcakes presented that I would sell in my shop.” Said Nicole Braddock.

Round two will be inspired by a pie flavor. “The teams have come up with amazing ideas for their pie inspired cupcakes. They have schemed up some fun displays as well.” Said Gilmore.

At the Cupcake Extravaganza, all of the cupcakes will be offered to the public at the culminating event. About 1,600 homemade cupcakes will be on display and up for purchase. The proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity and The Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Tickets are $10 and will include four gourmet cupcakes and raffle tickets which will be drawn at the end of the night.
