The past four months have been some to remember for Adam Weissberger.
In November, he was elected to the Town Council.
In January, he was named by Mayor George Apel as the Ordinance Review Committee's chairman.
And on Wednesday, he staged the grand opening of a new State Farm insurance agency at 30 Hyde Ave.
Apel, Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately, state Rep. Timothy Ackert, Tolland County Chamber of Commerce President Thora Cowperthwaite and officials from State Farm and the chamber were on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon in the snow.
Apel then presented him with a mayoral citation commemorating the day.
Weissberger said he wanted to keep his business local and looked exclusively in Vernon when considering a location. He settled on a space in a new addition to the Lafayette Plaza.
The agency currently employs two people in addition to Weissberger but he sassed he is adding another employee.
