Strong Family Farm 5K Chicken Run Goes Virtual

VERNON, CT — Here is an announcement on the annual Chicken Run at Strong Family Farm in Vernon:

"The health and safety of our participants and volunteers are at the forefront of our minds as we plan our event. Therefore, we have made the decision to convert our Annual 5K Chicken Run to a virtual race.

"Our friends at The Last Mile Racing will be setting up their finish line structure so that you can run/walk the course any time that is convenient for you, from June 22 through June 28, and still have the experience of running through the finish. If you are running/walking this route, please park at Center Road School. T-Shirts for registrants will be available for pickup at the farm during store hours the week of June 22. If you wish to run your own 5K route – that’s fine too!

"Don’t forget to record your time! And be sure to take selfies along the way and at the finish line! We will be sharing your photos all week on social media. Trophies and medals will be mailed to the runners with the fastest times.

The Route: Three times around the block! Start at Center Road School, take a right on Peterson Rd, another right onto West St. past the farm, and right onto Hartford Tpk. and then back on Center Road.
