Thanks to Walgreens, a Donation Was in the Bag
The school system received a donation of multi-use paper bags.
A unique donation from a local business made its way to Vernon schools on Thursday.
The Walgreens at 529 Talcottville Rd. recently donated - with the Board of Education's blessing - 18 cases of 500 count, 10-pound brown paper bags.
The bags have a value of $178.
Joseph Prignano, the transition coordinator at Rockville High School, was on hand with RHS juniors Taylor Detweiler (who works at the store through the program) and Mike MacDonald to collect the bags, load them into school van and distribute them.
Prignano said each school will put the bags to a number of uses.
