Thursday Vernon Store Theft Another In Monthlong Spree: Police
A monthlong crime spree has involved several stores in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT — A pair of bandits stole a cash register from the Route 30 Cumberland Farms store in Vernon early Thursday morning and the caper marked the fifth similar incident in town since July 10, police said.
All are active investigations, police said. Police did not release how much was taken at each store.
Thursday's theft took place at 3:04 a.m. A cash register was taken at the Route 30 Cumby's, which operates 24-hours a day, police said. Police said they are trying to identify a man and woman who sped away in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.

The incident has similar characteristics with four other thefts involving stores in Vernon, police said.
At 10:17 p.m. on July 10, A cash register was taken at the Walgreens located at 529 Talcottville Road, state Route 83.

At 6:32 a.m. on July 16, thieves made off with a cash register from the CVS at 142 Talcottville Road, state Rout 83.
On July 19, at 11:47 p.m., a substantial shoplifting incident took place at the Route 83 Cumby's, 333 Talcottville Road.
A theft also took place at Route 30 Cumby's on July 25.
