Valedictorian, Salutatorian Honored At Rockville High School
Rockville High School's valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2020 were recognized in a drive-up ceremony.

VERNON, CT — Rockville High School's valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2020 were recognized Tuesday as part of a special drive-up ceremony.
Here are their biographies from the school:
"Ethan Perkins, the Valedictorian, is the son of Dain Perkins and Christa Perkins. This fall, he will attend the University of Connecticut to study Chemical Engineering. Ethan has been actively involved in his high school as a team member for Rock-a-thon, working with kids from the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. He was also a member of the STEM Scholars program and Robotics. As a member of STEM Scholars, he created a presentation explaining the applications and abilities of Artificial Intelligence. He was a Semifinalist in the Governor's Scholars program, and he received the Harvard Book Prize in recognition of outstanding academic achievement. Throughout his undergraduate career he has shown continued academic excellence through numerous academic awards."

Ethan Perkins (RHS)
"Kelly Ruesta, the Salutatorian, is the daughter of Nancy Cayetano and Jorge Ruesta. This fall, she
will attend the University of Connecticut to pursue a degree in Allied Health Sciences in the Pre-med track. She is the recipient of University of Connecticut Day of Pride scholarship, which is awarded to outstanding Connecticut secondary school seniors from disadvantaged backgrounds who have proven academic ability, demonstrated leadership, contributed to their community, and show commitment to diversity and multiculturalism. Kelly has been actively involved in the Rockville High School community as a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, the International Club, the Peer Advocates, and the Allied Health Program. As a member of the varsity volleyball team, she served as captain and earned the Coach’s Award her senior year. She was also the manager for the boys’ volleyball team for four years. In her junior year, she became a member of Connecticut Students for a Dream, an organization that supports and advocates for undocumented students and their families. Throughout her high school career, Kelly received the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation Book Award, the E. Stevens Henry Award, Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning, and many undergraduate awards for academic excellence."
