It has targeted 24 more towns for a June 16 launch, including several in north central Connecticut, company officials said in a news release.

The towns on the launch list inched:

• Windsor

• Windsor Locks

• Manchester

•  Mansfield

• East Windsor

•  Enfield

•  Suffield

• Tolland

• Vernon

• Willington

• Berlin

•  Bloomfield

• Cromwell

• East Hartford

•  Farmington

•  Hartford

•  Middletown

•  New Britain

•  Rocky Hill

• South Windsor

Nationwide, metropolitan areas with 4G technology should total 145, according to the Verizon newsrelease.

The network is 10 times faster than the current 3G network, according to the release.

Verizon Wireless officials said the company has invested more than $2.8 billion into its New England network since 2000, including more than $242 million in 2010 alone.
