VERNON, CT — Mayor Daniel Champagne on Monday announced that the town has set up two additional brush disposal locations to handle the damage from last week's powerful storm.

"Last week’s storm caused significant damage in Vernon and the surrounding area," Champagne said. "Beginning (Monday), Vernon’s Public Works Department will offer two additional brush disposal locations to assist residents with clean-up."

Vernon residents may use the Church Street parking lot and Legion Field (located off Regan Road at rear of parking lot) to dispose of branches and limbs. The locations will be open for two weeks from Monday, Oct. 21 to Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. Residents may also use the Town’s Transfer Station, on Hockanum Boulevard (off Route 83) for brush disposal. No punch card will be required.
