VERNON, CT — A steady stream of voters went to the polls in Vernon on Tuesday to cast ballots in Connecticut's statewide election.
Vernon resident Joe Courtney had an overwhelming lead througho0ut the night in his re-election bid for the 2nd District U.S. House of Representatives seat as returns poured in.

Vernon Mayor Dan Champagne appeared to have won in a tight race for the 35th state Senate seat vacated by retiring icon Tony Guglielmo.
