- “This beautiful lady is Ms. Alicia Russell, a 5th grade teacher at Maple Street School here in Vernon. She is such a passionate teacher who takes time to make sure each and every one of the children she teaches knows they are special. The love she has for her job and the children brings teaching to a new level. She gives them a confidence to try and be proud of what they have done. She has taught two out of three of my children and they absolutely adore her. They have said that not only her academic teaching, but the things she teaches them about themselves, will carry on with them throughout life. ”
Why do you feel is this person an Everyday Hero?
- “The passion she has to see her students to learn new and exciting things is amazing. They are excited to see her every day. There is so much I could say about this woman but none of them would be enough to explain how much she means to these kids. She has touched our family’s lives probably more then she knows.”
