Vernon to Hold Memorial Service to Mark 40th Anniversary of Lisa White Disappearance

Lisa White went missing on Nov. 1, 1974. There will be a memorial service on Nov. 1 to mark her disappearance.

The Town of Vernon will hold a ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1974 disappearance of Lisa Joy White in Vernon.

White, who would be 53-years-old now, went missing while walking along Prospect Street around 8 p.m. on Nov. 1, 1974.

The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 1 at Prospect and Elm Street and is open to the public.

A Facebook page has been set-up specifically about White’s disappearance.

Police and other officials recently announced a new task force to reexamine three cases involving missing girls around the time of White’s disappearance.

Debra Spickler disappeared in 1968 at the age of 13. Janice Pockett was last seen in Tolland in 1973 at the age of 7.
