Tolland County Cold Case Task Force to Tackle Unsolved Cases
The task force will look into three missing girl cases from 40 years ago, as well as the unidentified body found in Vernon last year.

Law enforcement officials hope that recent advances in technology can help close three missing cases from the Vernon area that date back more than 40 years.
Officials announced at a press conference on Thursday that the Tolland State Attorney’s office, Connecticut State Police and the Vernon Police Department would be working together on the Tolland County Cold Case Task Force, according to the Hartford Courant.
The missing cases of Debra Sprickler from 1968, Janice Pockett from 1973 and Lisa White in 1974 remain open. Law enforcement officials are also attempting to identify remains found last year on West Street, but know that it doesn’t belong to any of the three missing girls.

Vernon Police Lt. William Meier said that the missing girl cases include thousands of pages of police reports and supporting documents already, but the hope is that modern technology will help give police fresh leads, the Courant reported.
