Vernon Students Creating Cards for Veterans

Last years students made more than 2,100 cards.

Vernon Public Schools students will be creating cards, letters and drawings to thank veterans for their service.

The items will be collected on Oct. 31 from each school and given to veterans. The collection is part of the Superintendent’s Challenge and the school that hands in the most items will receive the Superintendent’s Challenge trophy.

Last year the schools collectively gathered more than 2,141 cards, letters and drawings. The collection is ahead of Veteran’s Day, which is on Nov. 11.
