Vernon Wendy's Project Held Up By Traffic Studies: Mayor
A apartment complex project up Route 83 in Vernon has also been delayed by traffic studies.

VERNON, CT — Traffic issues are holding up projects that would place a Wendy's and an upscale apartment complex within about a mile of each other along Route 83, Vernon Mayor Daniel Champagne said on Wednesday.
The Wendy's has been proposed for halfway across the current Taco Bell Parking lot and onto an adjacent parcel on which a single-story commercial building stood. Improvements to the Hockanum River trail system will coincide with the project, the mayor said.
The other project in question is an open parcel across from Little Mark's Big Barbecue and Jumpin' Jonnies designated to house an apartment complex.

Once reports from the state Office of the State Traffic Administration are complete, the projects can proceed through the local regulatory process, Champagne said.
Wendy's has been looking to set up shop in Vernon for the better part of six years.
