A crew from Marlborough-based Connecticut Propane and Petroleum on Thursday morning set up a long tube, which was connected to long hoses, a control box, more hoses and finally the large propane tank in the south parking lot at Amerbelle Textiles in Rockville.
With a the Fire Department and fire marshal standing by, the pilot was lit. Then, the whole thing was connected and 15-foot flames shot out of the tube and the excess propane in the tank began burning off.
The tank was being purged in preparation for the company .
