Woman Busts Window with Cinder Block, Threatens to Kill Man: Cops

A woman used a cinder block to break into a Vernon home, then threatened to kill a man, police said.

VERNON, CT — A 42-year-old Vernon woman is facing a variety of criminal charges after hurling a cinder block through the glass portion of a door, breaking into a home and threatening to kill someone, according to an arrest report.

The incident at 66 Union Street took place at 12:12 a.m. on Monday, according to an arrest report.

Police were told by a resident that a woman he recognized as Tammy Gardner, of Vernon, threw a cinder block through the glass portion of a rear door and entered the home. She then threatened to kill him because of a complaint he made against her to police about a month ago, according to an arrest report.

Gardner was charged with:

  • Second-degree threatening
  • Second-degree burglary
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Third-degree criminal mischief

She is due in court on Feb. 23, according to an arrest report.
