Works of Juried Show Winners on Display at Arts Center

It was the inaugural show.

The Vernon Community Arts Center will be presenting three solo exhibitions featuring award-winning artists from its inaugural open juried show.

Gallery 1 will feature “Wonderland Circus”  by best-in-show winner Jennifer Wheeler.

Gallery 2 will feature “War of the Worlds” from first place winner-Kelly Burgess.

Second place winner, Aniko Enderle's “Ephemeral” will be featured in Gallery 3.

The collections will include watercolor and oils, along with photography. 

Winners were juried by judges Patricia Hickson, the curator for contemporary arts at the Wadsworth Antheneum, along with international artists Christopher Mir and Joseph Fucigna.

An opening artist reception is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Door donations are always welcomed.

The exhibition is scheduled to run runs from today through Sunday, Sept. 30.

The Vernon Community Arts Center is located at 709 Hartford Turnpike.

The Gallery hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m, Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.
