Young Rams Getting Experience

The Rockville High School boys soccer team features many young players.

With a 0-4 record and a goal differential of 3-29, it's been a rough September so far for the Rockville High School boys soccer team.

The Rams are young to begin with, and their roster has also been hampered by injuries to two key defenders.

Rather than complain, Coach Jamie Bunker prefers to look on the bright side of things and relish a chance to give six freshman and five sophomores a lot of minutes on the field.

"We have on eye on the future as our younger players are seeing a lot of playing time," Bunker said.

So far, Rockville has been on the short end of a matches with New Britain (6-0), E.O. Smith (7-0), Bloomfield (9-3) and Tolland 7-0.

"We've been having matchup issues physically, especially on the defensive end," Bunker said. "With playing in a competitive division like ours it doesn't get any easier as we play RHAM on friday. We will just continue to work hard at practice to make ourselves a better team."

Friday's RHAM match is and scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
