Victim Identified In Fatal Crash On I-91 In Wallingford: UPDATE

One person died after a rollover crash on I-91 in Wallingford early Wednesday morning.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A West Haven man was killed in a crash on I-91 South in Wallingford early Wednesday morning. State Police say Korie A. Yu, 28, of Templeton Street, was hospitalized after crashing into a tree off the median at about 2:30 a.m. and later died from his injuries.

Yu was operating a 2005 Toyota Camry southbound on I-91 near Exit 14 in the left lane when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway into the median and struck a tree, according to police. Yu was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The southbound side of I-91 was closed for several hours while police conducted the investigation. The Wallingford Fire Department and emergency medical personnel assisted with the accident, police said.
