5 People Caught In Stolen Vehicle, Using Stolen Credit Cards At Walmart: Wallingford Police
Police say a suspicious purchase at Walmart led to the arrest of five people.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A suspicious purchase at Walmart led to the arrest of five people who police say were traveling in a stolen vehicle and had used stolen credit cards at Walmart. At about 5:10 a.m. on June 27, Wallingford Police Officer Leslie Milano observed two subjects making a suspicious purchase at the Walmart on North Colony Road in Wallingford, according to Sgt. Jason Haberski.
The subjects entered a 2001 Ford pickup truck that had been reported stolen out of Waterbury the previous day, according to Haberski. Milano stopped the vehicle on North Plains Industrial Road and found five people in the vehicle. (To sign up for Wallingford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
“During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the approximately $350 in merchandise purchased at Walmart was done with credit cards that had been stolen earlier in the night,” Haberski said in a press release.

Ryan Yother, 28, of Cook Road in Prospect, was the driver of the vehicle and one of the subjects that went into Walmart, according to Haberski.

Yother was arrested on charges of third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy to commit receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was given a court date of July 11 at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $10,000 bond.

Dyshawn Saunders, 25, of Willard Street in Waterbury, was the other subject that went into Walmart. He was charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy to commit receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was also charged with failure to submit to fingerprinting and booking process. He was given a court date of July 11 at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $150,000 bond.

Janeice Trent, 24, of Fairway Lane in Waterbury, was one of the passengers in the vehicle. She was charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. She was given a court date of July 11 at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $10,000 bond.

Jerome Rogers, 21, of Wolcott Street in Waterbury, was one of the passengers in the vehicle. He was charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was given a court date of July 11 at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $10,000 bond.

Kevin Stevenson, 53, of Bishop Street in Waterbury, was one of the passengers in the vehicle. He was charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit receiving goods or services obtained by illegal use of a credit card, and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He gave a false name at the time of arrest so he was also charged with criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer, according to Haberski.
Stevenson was given a court date of July 11 at Meriden Superior Court and held on a $10,000 bond. He also had three failure to appear arrest warrants and was held on an additional $20,500 in bonds.
