Armed Robbery Arrests Made In Wallingford

A man on parole for a robbery conviction and a woman were arrested for the robbery, thanks to the help of a witness, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A man on parole for a robbery conviction and a North Haven woman were arrested in connection to the armed robbery of a Citgo gas station in Wallingford on Saturday night, according to police. An armed robbery was reported at the Citgo located at 305 Main St. at about 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 12. A witness saw the suspect running southbound from the gas station and get into the passenger seat of an awaiting vehicle, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.

Colavolpe said the witness told police the vehicle’s license plate number and the direction it was heading. Responding patrol units found the vehicle at the Route 15 southbound rest area between Exits 64 and 63 in North Haven.

The suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Dennis Girard of Hartford, was taken into custody. Cash and a facsimile firearm were recovered, according to Colavolpe. The driver of the vehicle was also taken into custody and identified as 33-year-old Jamie Cacace of North Haven.

Girard is currently on parole for a robbery conviction and was remanded to custody, Colavolpe said. He was charged with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy for both charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on Monday morning. His bond was set at $250,000.

Cacace was charged with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy for both charges and operating a motor vehicle under suspension. She was held on a $25,000 bond and given a court date of Jan. 25.
