Black Lives Matter Rally At Wallingford Town Hall Saturday

A rally against hate is scheduled for Saturday afternoon in front of the Wallingford Town Hall.

WALLINGFORD, CT – A rally against hate is scheduled for Saturday afternoon in front of the Wallingford Town Hall, where participants are expected to come together in support of Black Lives Matter.

The event, organized by Alexa Tomassi, will begin at 4 p.m. at the town hall, 45 South Main Street.

Participants at the rally will stand against all forms of discrimination and host a public repudiation of white supremacy and racism in memory of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Elijah McClain, Trayvon Martin, Heather Heyer and many more, according to the event description.

A group of speakers will educate attendees about what they can to do make a difference, and then participants plan to line South Main Street with signs.

"Silence is not an option," Tomassi wrote in the event description.

Voter registration will also be available on site. Those interested in registering who will turn 18 before Nov. 3 should bring a photo ID.

Masks and social distancing will be required at this event.
