Join our new Wallingford Social Justice Readers club to explore urgent societal issues through the lens of a fiction or nonfiction title! We intend to create a thoughtful, safe and engaged space for discussions that include participants' lived experiences and imagine what’s possible, what blocks possibilities, and how to inspire collective action. The selection for our first meeting on Sept. 16 will be the 2022 novel Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng. Set in a near-future America, this acclaimed bestseller follows a 12-year-old boy's search for his mother while exploring themes of censorship, racism, nationalism, and the power of storytelling. Copies of the book are available at the library's Information Desk.
