Child, 1, Severely Injured After Dog Attack In Wallingford

A grandfather was pushing the child in a stroller and walking with a six-year-old when the attack occurred.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A grandfather pushing a 1-year-old in a stroller was attacked by a dog Friday night along Simpson Avenue, the New Haven Register reports. A child, 6, was also with them.

An English bulldog attacked the 1 year-old, who sustained "severe injuries" to the head and face, the New Haven Register reports. The six-year-old was also bitten during the attack. All three, the two children and grandfather, were hospitalized due to injuries suffered.

A motorist stopped and the grandfather and two children took shelter in the Good Samaritan's car until emergency responders arrived. The dog is under quarantine with Animal Control.
