Lenny’s Café, at 64 Center St. in Wallingford, has been organizing donations, including clothing, toiletries and money, for the displaced families. Organizers said the response from the community has been “overwhelming.”
“Thank you to everyone who has donated so far,” reads a post on the Lenny’s Café Facebook page. “People responded fast and generously! Feel free to drop off any clothing you already planned on donating but at this point we'll be trying to narrow down the donations to gift cards/certificates and money donations until the families have a place to put everything!
“Also thank you to everyone who continues to look out for the cats.
“Grateful to be part of this amazing community.”
A GoFundMe campaign has also been launched in support of KC Logan and family. Logan jumped out of the third floor to escape the fire and suffered some injuries, according to the GoFundMe. The campaign has raised $1,800 as of Monday night.
