Leora Levy, endorsed by Donald Trump, defeated Themis Klarides in the GOP's U.S. Senate primary. Here's how Wallingford Republicans voted.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Donald Trump-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Leora Levy bested moderate Themis Klarides in a somewhat unexpected Republican primary result on Tuesday night.
Levy will now face incumbent Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal in November.
Wallingford Republicans followed the statewide trend with stronger support for Levy over Klarides, who was the GOP’s endorsed candidate.

Republican primary
Statewide turnout for the Republican primary was about 20 percent, according to the Secretary of the State. About 20 percent of eligible Wallingford Republicans cast a ballot.

- Themis Klarides: 505 votes, 39.39 percent
- Leora R. Levy: 670 votes, 52.26 percent
- Peter Lumaj: 107 votes, 8.35 percent
Secretary of the State
- Dominic Rapini: 812 votes, 66.94 percent
- Terrie E. Wood: 401 votes, 33.06 percent
Democratic primary
Turnout statewide for the Democratic primary was 14.4 percent, according to the Secretary of the State. Wallingford’s turnout was 14.68 percent.

- Stephanie Thomas: 772 votes, 70.50 percent
- Maritza Bond: 323 votes, 29.50 percent
Treasurer
- Erick Russell: 646 votes, 58.94 percent
- Dita Bhargava: 239 votes, 21.81 percent
- Karen Dubois-Walton: 211 votes, 19.25 percent
