David P. FitzPatrick, 68; of Wallingford; U.S. Navy Veteran Battled ALS
A memorial service is set for Sept. 5 and an ALS walk will be held in his honor later this month.

David P. FitzPatrick, 68, of Wallingford, loving husband of Deborah Henshaw FitzPatrick, passed away at his residence, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 after a quick, but difficult battle with ALS.
David was born in New Haven, May 7, 1947, a son of the late Louis S. Prussick and Ruth E. Kelley and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. David was employed by Southern Ct. Gas Company and more recently Eastern Account Systems until his retirement. He was an avid bowler, and was a fan of the N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Yankees, and the N.Y. Mets.

After his retirement in 2013, David was proud of the fact he was able to accomplish walking 1, 400 miles in one year, from 2013 until 2014.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Amy Roush and her husband Andrew of Windsor, and Christopher FitzPatrick of Wallingford; his sisters Rena Lott of Arizona, Roberta Deangelo of Hamden; his brother Gene FitzPatrick of New Hampshire; his brothers-in-law Rob Henshaw and wife Angie of Illinois and Bill Henshaw and wife Mary of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Patty Purcell; his brother Mark FitzPatrick; and his brother-in-law Thomas Henshaw Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. in The First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the ALS Association, 4 Oxford Road, Unit E4, Milford, CT. 06460.
