Democrat Declares Mayoral Run In Wallingford
Incumbent Republican William W. Dickinson Jr. has served as mayor of Wallingford for the past 34 years.

WALLINGFORD, CT — After years of volunteering on political campaigns, Democrat Jared Liu has decided it was time for his own run and will challenge longtime incumbent Republican Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. this November.
The Meriden Record-Journal reports Liu, 40, announced his campaign Wednesday at a Democratic Town Committee meeting. He works at Yale University’s School of Management as an associate director of admissions and this is his first campaign for elected office, according to the Record-Journal. Dickinson recently announced that he will seek an 18th term as mayor of Wallingford.

Democrats did not field a candidate against Dickinson in the last election and petitioning candidate Donald Kennedy was his only opposition.
