DPH Fines NJ Company For Operating Blood Collection Center in Wallingford Without Approval
The company was operating a total of eight such centers without state approval.

The Connecticut Department of Health fined a New Jersey company for operating eight blood collection centers in the state including a center in Wallingford without approval, the Connecticut Health Investigative Team reports.
BioReference Laboratories Inc. signed a consent order on Nov. 3 with the Department of Health agreeing to the $200,000 fine and five years probation on the licenses of three clinical laboratories in Connecticut and a certificate of approval for a blood collection center, the publication reports. In addition, a number of requirements have been imposed on the company.
The Department of Health shut down the eight centers that had been operating without state approval on Aug. 29. According to the publication, the company must apply for a certificate of approval to re-open the centers.
