WALLINGFORD, CT — A DUI driver was found to be in the possession of 10 fraudulent IDs after a crash that sent a woman to the hospital with an apparent broken arm late Friday night in Wallingford, according to police. At about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, Wallingford Police responded to the area of 128 Hall Avenue to investigate the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley.
Arriving officers found a Nissan operated by William Sheridan facing west in the eastbound travel lane of Hall Avenue. Sheridan told police he was uninjured in the crash and refused medical treatment, according to Bradley.
The other vehicle involved in the crash was a Kia Optima and the female operator was hospitalized with an apparent broken arm, according to Bradley.

The accident investigation found that the Kia was stopped facing eastbound at the traffic signal at the intersection of Hall Avenue and North Cherry Street when it was struck by Sheridan, who was traveling westbound on Hall Avenue. Bradley said the Kia was pushed approximately 80 feet in a westerly direction as a result of the impact from the crash.
“Investigating officers believed that Sheridan was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol,” Bradley said in a press release. “He refused to participate in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, but, admitted to consuming ‘too much’ alcohol that evening.”

While searching for Sheridan’s identification and vehicle documentation, officers located multiple forms of identification from multiple states. Police determined that Sheridan was in the possession of 10 fraudulent licenses, according to Bradley. The licenses all had Sheridan’s photo, but contained various dates of births and were from six different states.
Sheridan, 50, of Evergreen Condominium in Wallingford, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane and 10 counts of second-degree forgery. He was held on a $100,000 bond and assigned a court date of Dec. 21 in Meriden.
