Fire Displaces Family On Christmas In Wallingford

A family was displaced from their home after a fire on Christmas.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A family was displaced from their home on Christmas after a fire in Wallingford.

Crews responded to the home at 28 Ridgeland Circle around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The fire started in the garage and spread to the home’s attic.

Arriving crews reported the garage was fully involved in flames and there were also live wires down in the driveway, according to fire officials.

FOX 61 reports the occupants made it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported.

“A 2.5 inch handline was stretched to the garage for fire attack by the engine company, while the truck company and medic units did an interior search and ventilated the roof,” fire officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “A 1 3/4 handline was brought to the interior for an interior fire attack after the garage fire was knocked down. Companies remained on scene for most the afternoon overhauling and putting out hot spots."
