Fire Extinguished At Laundromat In Wallingford

Crews responded to the fire Tuesday afternoon.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at a laundromat in the Yalesville section of Wallingford on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the Yalesville Laundromat on Main Street at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 14.

“The Battalion Chief arrived to find heavy smoke in the building,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Engine 2 made a quick interior attack and the fire was under control within 10 minutes. The engine reported a fire that was in and around one of the dryers. Units where in scene for approximately 1 hour doing overhaul and smoke removal.”

The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
