Firefighters Hospitalized, Cat Dies In Wallingford Fire: Reports
A home was heavily damaged in a fire in Wallingford on Sunday afternoon.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Two firefighters were hospitalized and a cat died in a fire on North Elm Street in Wallingford on Sunday afternoon, according to FOX61.
The firefighters were treated for heat stress and one was released from the hospital on Sunday night, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The home, located at 427 North Elm Street, was heavily damage in the fire. The fire, which remains under investigation, started in the garage and extended to the second floor and attic, according to the fire department. To sign up for Wallingford breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Multiple Wallingford Fire Department units, with assistance from the Meriden Fire Department, quickly extinguished the fire with a “blitzfire and 2 1 3/4 interior lines,” the Wallingford Fire Department wrote in a post on Facebook.
