WALLINGFORD, CT — Lyman Hall High School was temporarily evacuated on Thursday morning due to a gas odor, according to officials.

Lyman Hall administrators were notified Thursday morning that the smell of gas was detected down the school’s “A” hallway, according to Superintendent of Schools Danielle Bellizzi.

“The school staff acted quickly and evacuated the building and notified the Fire Department and Eversource,” Bellizzi said in a message to parents. “The Fire Department and Eversource arrived at the school and determined that it was safe for staff and students to return to the building, except for the one hallway where the odor was detected. Eversource will remain on-site to determine the cause of the detected odor.
