Gaylord Specialty Healthcare - a rehabilitation-based healthcare system in Wallingford - needs your help in brightening the days of its patients who are unable tor receive visits from their loved ones while they recover from serious illness or devastating injury.

We are looking for artists both young and young-at-heart to break out their art supplies and create drawings, paintings and messages of hope. It's a great way to keep little ones busy while bringing joy and encouragement to others!

Just take a picture of your artwork and email it to publicrelations@gaylord.org. All artwork will be printed and delivered to patients and shared with staff.

Tara Knapp, Vice President of Development, Marketing and PR, said the idea was launched after a statewide DPH mandate was issued prohibiting visitors to long-term acute care hospitals.

“Family support plays a crucial role in the recovery of patients who have suffered traumatic illnesses and injuries,” she said. “In this stressful time, our staff are going above and beyond to make sure that our patients feel as safe and supported as possible.”
