Gaylord Sports Association Holds First and Only Gauntlet 5K Trail/Obstacle Run at Connecticut Hospital

Four Adaptive Athletes Participating in Event that Encourages Physically Disabled Athletes to Stay Active and Build Self-Confidence

WHO: The Gaylord Specialty Healthcare Sports Association

WHAT: A 5k Trail Run with 21 natural and manmade obstacles on the campus of Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT:

· First and only Connecticut hospital to host such an event on their campus

· Four adaptive athletes participating in the race including John Redfield (Amputee), Brett Sloan (Amputee), David Solano (Visually Impaired), Margaret Rorrio (Mobility Impaired). Interview and photo opportunities will be available.

· Local teams are challenging one another such as Gaylord vs. Masonicare as well as Crossfit Gym Teams and North Farms Volunteer Fire Dept.

· Post-race festival follows with beer and food vendors, DJ and bands

Registration: 8:00am

Race Waves Begin at 10 a.m. and every 20 minutes until 1 p.m.

Awards: 2:30pm - 3:00pm
