Hazardous Weather Outlook for Wallingford

Several warnings and watches are in effect for the rest of Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Wallingford in effect until 4:15 p.m. today and a flood watch in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday.

An overall hazardous weather outlook has also been issued.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

As of 3:30 p.m., 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen across the region with an additional ½ to 1 inch possible by the time the event ends Tuesday night. The main impact will be urban and poor drainage flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain is expected to continue tonight with north wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Rain and snow showers are likely for Wednesday morning, becoming all rain after 10 a.m. It will be cloudy, with a high near 41, but the wind chill will make it feel between 25 and 35 degrees. North wind is expected to be 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

For Wednesday night, there is a chance of rain and snow showers before 1 a.m., then a chance of snow showers. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
