House Cleaner Stole $4.8K In Jewelry From Elderly Resident: Wallingford Police
A woman is accused of stealing more than $4,800 in jewelry from an elderly Wallingford resident, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A Middletown woman is accused of stealing more than $4,800 in jewelry from an elderly Wallingford resident, according to police.
An elderly resident of Ashlar Village in Wallingford reported in 2024 that jewelry had been stolen from her apartment, according to Capt. Michael Colavolpe.
Following an investigation, Colavolpe said officers determined that the victim's house cleaner, Carrie Parsons, was responsible for the theft of two rings valued at more than $4,800.

“After stealing the rings, Parsons pawned them and received approximately $570,” Colavolpe wrote in a news release.
An arrest warrant for Parsons was issued at the end of 2024, according to Colavolpe.

Colavolpe said investigators learned that Parsons was aware of the warrant and had actively avoided contact with law enforcement throughout 2025.
Parsons was located at her residence in Middletown on June 11.
“When officers arrived, she attempted to hide inside the residence but was taken into custody without incident,” Colavolpe wrote.
Parsons was charged with third-degree larceny.
In addition to the Wallingford warrant, Colavolpe said Parsons also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Middletown stemming from a 2022 incident in which she failed to appear in court.
Parsons was released after posting a $10,000 bond for the larceny charge and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 25. She was also released after posting a $2,500 bond for the failure-to-appear warrant and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on June 24.
The arrest was part of a targeted warrant enforcement operation conducted by the Wallingford Police Department during the week of June 8, according to Colavolpe.
Colavolpe said the initiative focused on locating and apprehending people with active arrest warrants who either live in Wallingford or were wanted for offenses committed within the town.
“The operation was highly successful, resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals,” Colavolpe wrote. “Those taken into custody were wanted on a variety of charges, ranging from property crimes to more serious offenses.”
