Officials Update On 'Inappropriate' Message Investigation
An "inappropriate" message was found written on a whiteboard at a Wallingford school on Wednesday, leading to a police presence on Thursday.

WALLINGFORD, CT — In a joint message to the Wallingford school community in the wake of an "inappropriate" message that was found written on a whiteboard at Sheehan High School, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sal Menzo and Police Chief William Wright said the investigation is ongoing and they will be available at police headquarters on Friday morning, from 7:30 a.m. to 8: 30 a.m. to discuss the situation.
“On behalf of the Wallingford Public Schools and the Wallingford Police Department, we are offering you this update to an ongoing investigation,” the joint statement reads. “Yesterday, school officials were notified of a message that was found written on a whiteboard in a classroom at Mark T. Sheehan High School. The contents of the message were serious enough that the Wallingford Police Department launched an investigation in an attempt to determine those persons responsible. It is important to note that while serious, school officials and the police department did not have any reason to believe that school students and staff safety were in jeopardy.
“The Superintendent’s Office and Police Department have received numerous questions regarding the contents of the message. Unfortunately, we continue to be unable to provide additional detail due to this being an open police investigation.
