'Justice for Bella': Reward Offered in Case of Dog Shot to Death

An online fundraising campaign has been launched for information leading to an arrest after Bella's dead body was found in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person that killed Bella, the dog that was found shot to death and was wrapped in a blue tarp in the Tyler Mill nature preserve in Wallingford — one hour and 20 minutes away from her home in Chaplin — last week.

A friend of Bella’s family, Katelin Kapura, has organized a fundraising page on crowdrise.com titled Justice for Bella and has set a goal of $1,000.

If no arrest is made, the funds will be donated to help animals in need, according to a Wallingford Animal Control Facebook post.

Bella had been missing since Thanksgiving morning before she was found dead in Wallingford.

Kapura wrote on crowdrise that Bella’s owners are two of the “kindest, most caring animal lovers I have ever met. They take more than good care of their horses, goats, many chickens, cat and dogs. Bella didn’t just wander too far that Thanksgiving morning. She was stolen. Stolen from her home and kept... I am asking that all friends, family, and even strangers who just want justice for this dog, as it could’ve been any one of us whose beloved pet was stolen and murdered, to donate on behalf of Bella, that she may seek justice for the wrong-doers, and other proceeds to benefit local shelter’s programs that aid in finding lost or stolen pets, with no leads.”
