Parenthood, 2015: How Things Have Changed!

Ron Sabatelli, a professor of human development and family studies at the University of Connecticut will discuss contemporary parenting and parenthood on Monday, April 20, at 7:15 p.m. at the Wallingford Public Library.

The talk – free and open to the public -- is sponsored by the library, the Meriden branch of the American Association of University Women and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UCONN.

Sabatelli will discuss contemporary views of motherhood and fatherhood, varying stresses faced by parents in less and more educated families, and the increase in anxiety among parents today as they determine how to best prepare their children for the future. Sabatelli will present interesting information from his own research and discuss trends recognized by scholars in the social sciences.

Audience participation will be encouraged.
