Life-Threatening Injuries for Operator in Serious Motorcycle Vs. SUV Crash in Wallingford
The accident occurred Thursday on North Colony Road at the intersection of Pent Highway

WALLINGFORD, CT - The operator of the motorcycle involved in Thursday afternoon's serious crash with an SUV suffered life-threatening head injuries, according to Wallingford police.
Tyler Sweeney, 23, of Wallingford, was admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he is being treated for the injuries. His passenger on the motorcycle, Jessica Keib, 22, also of Wallingford, was admitted to the hospital, too, and was listed in stable condition, wrote Lt. Anthony DeMaio in a statement. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The crash occurred at about 2:24 p.m. on North Colony Road at the intersection of Pent Highway in Wallingford. A Jeep, operated by Alvarado Reynaga, 61, of Meriden, was "negotiating a left-hand turn from North Colony Road, intending to enter Pent Hwy to travel in a westerly direction. When doing so the Jeep he was operating travelled into the path of the motorcycle, which was traveling in a southerly direction on North Colony Road. The collision occurred within the intersection of the two roadways," said DeMaio.

Following the crash, in which the motorcycle became wedged under the Jeep, Reynaga was transported to MidState Medical Center for evaluation. His front seat passenger, Aurelia Aquino, 57, also of Meriden, was not injured.
The crash temporarily closed down portions of the road for several hours. Police are continuing their investigation and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the crash contact Officer James Knowlton at 203-294-2817.
