Man, 29, Killed In Motorcycle Accident in Wallingford: Police

The accident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department is continuing to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred over the weekend. Jason M. Sipes, 29, was killed around 2 a.m. Sunday when he was thrown from his motorcycle while riding on Barnes Road (Route 68). Sipes was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

Police said the investigation, which is ongoing, revealed that Sipes was traveling in a westbound direction on Route 68 prior to the collision.

“As Sipes rode through the intersection of Route 68 and Northrop Road, where there is a slight left curve, he travelled off the right side of the roadway,” police wrote in a press release. “His motorcycle then left the paved portion of the roadway and struck a metal beam guard rail, which caused Sipes to separate from the motorcycle.”
