Man Attacks Wallingford Police Officers with Knife
The incident occurred while the officers were conducting a welfare check on a resident.

Two Wallingford police officers escaped injury in a dangerous situation when they were attacked by a man with a bayonet-style knife during a welfare check Sunday night, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports that a friend called police to ask them to check on Greg Petrucci, 44, of Mulligan Drive, out of concern for his well-being.

Police said Petrucci was calm at first but suddenly attacked one of the officers, according to the Record-Journal.
The officers were able to wrestle the knife away from Petrucci and arrest him.
